No one ever said all developments had to be the same. That concept came from developers and contractors who wanted to save money on designs, blueprints, and other costs. Dubai developers are getting away from that mentality and taking craftsmanship to a whole new level.
They have developed some very interesting residential and commercial properties that are innovative as well as creative. The city is full of architectural wonders, including the world’s largest mall.
To be creative and fully use craftsmanship, it takes spending a lot of money. The rulers of the city are not resting on their laurels any time soon.
There are some very unique property developments in Dubai that have the rest of the world-shaking its heads in wonder. That wonder is a positive attitude as other countries wonder how could Dubai developers create such a unique and beautiful property.
Here are a few of those properties that astound the world and have developers in other countries staring in amazement at their achievements:
These developments are as pretty as they are practical. Built-in the shape of a palm tree, the different leaves add about 320 miles of beachfront property to the city.
While only Palm Jumeirah is completed, its unique look adds a little design tweak that would enhance any city’s look. The Palm islands, when finished, will hold some of the largest artificial islands in the world.
A completely indoor skiing mountain. This mountain reaches 279 feet high, covering 242,187 square feet, making it the largest indoor skiing resort anywhere.
There are 5 ski slopes, 2 tow bars, and a chair lift to help make sure international and national skiers get their money’s worth no matter what time of the year they go.
For the kids, there is a 32,291-square-foot snow park that provides activities like sledding, snowballs, and a nice ice cave. It is an architectural marvel.
More artificial islands were created 2.5 miles off the coast of Dubai. However, there has been a problem with the construction, and only one island has been completed and is in service at this time.
A total of 300 islands in the shape of a world map were scheduled to be built, but the area has not recovered from the 2008 global crisis. It is not sure when construction will start again.
Located on Palm Jumeirah, this luxury hotel has over 1500 rooms and all with a nautical theme. Those themes are based on the legend of Atlantis. Opening night saw a fireworks display that was just over 3 miles long.
When you stay there, you can take your kids to the Aquaventure Water Park for a fun-filled day of water activities. Then at night or even in the evening, you can go to Nasimi Beach to enjoy a concert or other scheduled activities.
Located on the outermost island of the Palm Jumeirah, this hotel is a beautiful building in a beautiful setting.
This is one-stop shopping at its best. Construction started in 2012, and it has a planned 48 million-square-foot design. 8 million of that 48 million square feet is reserved for retail outlets.
But more than shopping is intended for this mall. It will house a large game park, 20,000 hotel rooms, facilities for medical tourism, plus different scheduled events.
It is hoped that 180 million tourists will stop by throughout the year once this mall is completed.
There are many wonders that populate the Dubai boundaries. Some are very beautiful, and others are very innovative in their design. Here are a few of those wonders:
It is hard to beat nature in good looks, and this Miracle Garden continues to prove that point of view true. If you are a nature lover, this garden covers over 780,000 square miles (yes, miles). It needs to be that large as over 109 million different flowers bloom in the different gardens every year.
Also, the largest indoor butterfly garden in the region is a part of this miracle garden. Over 15,000 butterflies from 26 species are housed in this facility. But do not try to visit between June and September, as the gardens are closed for maintenance.
Creative architecture has developed this wonder of Dubai. The Dubai architects and engineers found a way to make a building look like the sail on a dhow (Arabian ship).
It rises out of the Persian Gulf and extends to 321 meters above the water. It is an elegant design that makes it one of the most photographed buildings in the city. It is the only 7-star hotel in the world.
When people put their minds to it, they can create almost anything. This fountain is a fine example of that as it stretches over 900 feet in length and shoots water over 500 feet in the air. All of this activity is synchronized.
With 6600 lights and 25 colour projectors, this is the only fountain that can be seen from space. That is how bright it is. Plus, its beam can be seen from 20 miles away.
It is one of the wonders that exemplifies the talents of the Dubai developers, architects, engineers, and other workers. This city is full of wonders and superior craftsmanship.
