City Walk Community Guide

City Walk is a unique offering by Meraas that creates a space where residents can experience urban sophistication. Designed for discerning individuals with impeccable taste, it features intelligent and harmonious architecture fringed with low-rise pavilion-style buildings. Residents and visitors can meet, socialise, shop, dine, or stroll around the tree-lined walkways while enjoying spectacular views of Dubai's skyline. The district covers more than 900,000 square metres, was developed in two phases of commercial and residential areas, and opened to the public in February 2016.

At The City Walk Residences, a diverse mixture of unit sizes and types merge to form one large community. Each building within this community provides a unique perspective of Dubai and the entire destination. Full access to the entire floor, featuring a landscaped public courtyard and public terraces on top, astounds every resident of City Walk. Residents have exclusive use of the common area, which includes a gym and changing facilities. Roof decks include swimming pools and a children's swimming pool.

Contemporary themes and elegant proportions of the unique retail hub reflect international design principles even while integrating a novel architectural approach. City Walk's streets and public space, coupled with its core architectural elements, detail this unique destination's image.

Can foreigners buy an apartment in City Walk?

Yes. City Walk is a freehold area, so buyers of any nationality can own an apartment outright, with the title registered at the Dubai Land Department. You do not need to live in the UAE to buy, and you can buy with cash or, if a bank approves you, a mortgage. Our guide to buying property in Dubai as a foreigner covers the steps, fees and documents.

What to check before buying in City Walk

  • The building. Central Park, Crestlane, Northline and the older City Walk residences differ in age, layout and view. Ask which building and which floor.
  • The view. Park, skyline and street facing units in the same building can be priced very differently.
  • The service charge. Ask for the rate per square foot and the last two years of charges, and add it to your numbers before you decide the yield works.
  • Parking and chiller. Check how many spaces come with the unit and whether cooling is billed separately.
  • Ready or off-plan. Ready stock lets you rent out at once. Off-plan spreads the payments but you wait for handover.

Retail and dining

One of the distinguishing features of City Walk is its retail and dining. The open-air shopping district has an eclectic mix of boutique stores, international brands, and concept stores, suiting a wide range of tastes.

Shopping

Shopping in City Walk is very different to shopping in other parts of the city, with a variety of local boutiques and high fashion brands to choose from. Designer brands like Michael Kors, Armani Exchange, and Coach sit alongside niche boutiques with their own bespoke items in stock.

Entertainment and attractions

City Walk offers a variety of entertainment options suitable for all ages.

The Green Planet

The Green Planet is an indoor biodome that houses a tropical rainforest. With more than 3,000 plants and animals, it is a favourite among families and nature lovers.

Coca-Cola Arena

The Coca-Cola Arena, a major entertainment venue in Dubai, hosts concerts, sports tournaments, and live shows, bringing energy to the neighbourhood.

Roxy Cinemas

The boutique cinema in City Walk offers a comfortable movie-watching experience, with plush seating, gourmet snacks, and the latest releases.

Outdoor spaces

Landscaped walkways, fountains, and open-air plazas give the community places for outdoor activity and social interaction. In season, there are outdoor markets and art exhibitions.

Architecture and design

City Walk draws on a blend of contemporary and classic elements. The glass facades, clean lines, and neutral tones give it a quiet elegance.

It has European-style streetscapes in an open-air layout, designed to promote walking and social interaction. Public art installations, murals, and sculptures add to the appeal of the community, an inspiring place to live and visit.

City Walk in short

City Walk embodies Dubai's vision of creating world-class urban communities that cater to the needs of a cosmopolitan society. It provides an upscale and active lifestyle in the heart of the city, with its prime location, luxurious residences, retail, and outstanding amenities.

City Walk provides everything you need, whether it's a place to live, a unique shopping and dining experience, or an investment. As it continues to develop, it is likely to stay one of Dubai's most desirable addresses.
