Activities and destinations in Palm Jumeirah

Discover the top sights and undiscovered treasures on Palm Jumeirah, a renowned artificial island in Dubai. This place provides stunning beaches and quirky adventures.

Palm Jumeirah is one of the classiest places to reside and unwind in the United Arab Emirates; it's a beautiful artificial archipelago. This post will discuss the most visited places to see and the must-see spots to ensure an unforgettable experience.

How do I reach Dubai's island?

The tram

The T1 tram line runs from the main land part of Jumeirah to the coastal complex Dubai Marina and vice versa. To get to the Palm, get down at the Palm Jumeirah 1 stop. From there, the pedestrian bridge to the monorail station is 7 minutes away.

Metro

There isn't any metro line directly coming onto the island. You can either get a monorail ticket or take a taxi from Dubai Internet City, the closest Red Line station to the Palm. Alternatively, you may want to take the T1 tram when you arrive at Dubai Marina Metro Station or DMCC Metro Station. It would involve the following: The Dubai Marina Metro Station, also known as the DMCC Metro Station, will follow the T1 tram line, which stops at Palm Jumeirah 1, and then a monorail.

Aquarium Lost Chambers.

The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis' Palm consists of tunnels and pavilions themed around the mythical island of Atlantis. Take a tour with your kids underwater to view sharks, piranhas, stingrays, lobsters, and octopuses that would swim around shipwrecks and remnants of an ancient city. In a touch tank, an instructor will help you pet and feed aquatic life.

Aquaventure Waterpark

The world's biggest waterpark is home to 105 slides of different heights. Of course, it also boasts the 30-meter-long transparent Leap of Faith tube, which shoots through shark- and ray-infested waters. Aquaventure lets you play around in its swimming pool, plunge down a cliff, take a tour along riverside water, surf, or just sit on its beach. Here, those seeking to learn something new can even attend training for water sports at a training center.

The Dolphin Bay

Specifically, Dolphin Bay is part of Aquaventure Waterpark and is an area where guests and visitors can swim with the dolphins. An instructor will instruct you to play with the dolphins in shallow water for approximately 30 minutes during the session. An upfront briefing and equipment will prepare you for this activity. The next place to view the marine life at Dolphin Bay is the deepest part of the lagoon.

Mall in Nakheel

This vast shopping and entertainment complex features multiple parking levels and equally extensive multi-level attractions. Nakheel Mall also houses the MODO department store, Waitrose supermarket, escape rooms, an arcade, indoor playground Fabyland, a 14-screen Vox Cinemas, and 300 stores. Take your family for a filling lunch to The Eatery food court. If you'd like to chill with a drink, there's a rooftop bar and nightclub.

The Palm's View

This observation deck lies on the 52nd floor of Palm Tower, 240 meters above ground and offers a stunning panoramic view of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai's glittering skyscrapers, and Palm Jumeirah. After having an excellent cup of coffee in the cozy cafe, experience marine life in an interactive aquarium before heading to an exhibit explaining more about the history of the artificial island.

The Burj Al Arab

Its iconic shape can be considered among the most easily recognizable features of Dubai, with a vast curvature similar in many ways to a sail. Nestled at Umm Suqeim 3, near the Palm, the Burj Al Arab finds its complement in helipad additions, Rolls-Royce transfers, the aquarium restaurant Ristorante L'Olivo at Al Mahara, and the SAL poolside bar with panoramic views. Swimming or sunbathing on the 10,000 m² Burj Al Arab Terrace integrates seamlessly with the Arabian Gulf.

Jumeirah Souk Madinat

Madinat Jumeirah Souk, just a ten-minute drive away from the island, situated on King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street 2/1, whisks you into a Middle Eastern atmosphere. This souk markets gifts made by hand, special spices, fragrances, and luxurious fabrics. There are twenty-five shops, galleries, and restaurants overlooking the waters of the island. The Theatre of Digital Art houses multimedia exhibitions and immersive installations on famous works of art. There are evening concerts performed by jazz musicians.

Park Al Ittihad

This lush palm park extends along the trunk of Palm Jumeirah for 1.5 kilometers. With its vibrant trees and flowers, this place is ideal for jogging, having a picnic, or taking a cooling walk along its trails designated for joggers and pedestrians. Take your time and relax in its shaded areas with refreshing sprays coming from the fountains. It's also close to the Golden Mile Galleria shopping center.

The beaches on the Island

The paradise for beach lovers is Palm Jumeirah. Every part of the Palm has sections of beach with several kilometers of soft, white sand, warm, quiet water, and gradually increasing sea depth—all promising hours of unforgettable fun. Mid-autumn is the ideal time to visit the island for a beach holiday, as the land remains moderately warm and the water in the Persian Gulf cools down to a refreshing 25°C.

Among the tourist attractions are the private beaches. You can rent a speedboat, wakeboard, kayak, and sunbathe here. If you are booked in the Kempinski Hotel & Residences, Palm Jumeirah, or Atlantis The Palm, then you can already have access to upscale beaches, chic bars, and beach clubs.

On the left side of the trunk is Palm West Beach, the most famous beach on the island. The long promenade, perfect for a stroll, welcomes pets. Not only does Palm West Beach feature white sand and a blue ocean, but it also features gift shops, visitor parking, and panoramic eateries, including KoKo Bay, Surf Club, Lucky Fish, Jones The Grocer, Señor Pico, and Orange Chameleon. It is open daily from 8:00 AM to Midnight.
